The Festive Factory are the combined talents of Sue Blakey and Steve Scott
Sue Blakey has a BA in music composition (Latrobe University 1984), studied Mime in London and has toured extensively throughout Europe, North America and Australasia.
Additional training includes:
Sue has worked professionally with Polyglot Puppet Theatre, Born in a Taxi, The Point, Handspan Theatre and many self produced solo performances. Others employment has included; Stage Manager, Lighting Technician and production Manager of the ‘Wombat Puppet Festival’ (2006).
Steve Scott has designed and built puppets since 1980, with a trademark nature theme, he is strongly influenced by the Australia Outback of his childhood.
He has presented his work at many significant events, including; World Expo 88, Queen Elizabeth II, Commonwealth Games, 2001 Bicentennial and National Federation Celebrations.
Mostly self taught, Steve’s largest creations are influenced by the time spent under the instruction of Peter Minchell U.K. (Rio Madi Gras).
Steve designs and builds puppetry on commission – including the large creations for the Melbourne City Council’s annual Moomba Parades – and also conducts private and public workshops in puppetry and animation.
